This Mayan Temazcal Ceremonial Night from Cancun and Riviera Maya starts upon pickup from hotels nearby. Firstly ou’ll arrive to Dos Palmas. An ecological reserve and traditional Maya community located in the forest. About 45 minutes from Playa del Carmen.
Meanwhile, your guide introduces you to age old customs. Including an introduction to the Maya purification ceremony with a shaman. Then, enter the Temazcal, a sacred steam bath that represents the womb. It is considered to offer spiritual rebirth. Sit in a ceremonial circle as you take part in this ancestral ritual.
After this unforgettable experience, walk in the rainforest until you arrive at a cenote, a natural sinkhole of freshwater illuminated at night. Swim in the crystalline waters and relax while hot chocolate is served in a jicara, which you can keep as a souvenir. Finally, feast on a typical dinner with a Maya family before returning to your hotel.
